![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If the CPU temperatures rise to your former levels, then simply reset the BIOS, and the overclock will be wiped. The I7-4790K turbo boost is 4.4 GHz so you would only be overclocking 0.2 - 0.4 GHz. If you want do do more then you can look into it a bit more thoroughly. And if you want to go back, just enter the BIOS and reset it to manufacturer defaults. Then select an 4.6 - 4.8 GHz overclock, and give it a try. If you are unsure about overclocking in general, then try the motherboard BIOS automated overclock. The Cooler Master Hyper 212X should handle a moderate overclock. ![]() The CPU temperature should be addressed with a new cooler. I might give it a try with the Hyper 212x though, but I'm not sure it'll be able to handle higher oc's to be honest. Your'e totally right, but these temps aren't very promising to be honest, and made me a bit hesitant to consider ocing, especially that I can't buy a high-end cooler right now. You paid over $100 over the I5 K chip and aren't using it to it's potential. It does seem to be waste of resources to have a I7-4790K setting there at stock speeds. ![]()
