The OP could install the LXDE Desktop Environment in Debian ARM64 but that would only give a similar look and feel, quite likely Raspberry Pi Desktop Desktop Environment could be "compiled" to run on Debian ARM64 OS. The OP is clearly aware that he can run Debian ARM64 Operating System, but he wanted to run Raspberry Pi ARM64 Operating System so that he can develop in the VM and then use real RPi Hardware. Surely the OP is not wanting to run x86 RaspiOS ! Parallels has a ARM Debian, but how can I get the Ras desktop etc?
